Dynamic Rehab at Gentle Care Chiro

One of the main tools Dr Katherine uses in her rehab services is Functional Neuro-Orthopedic Rehabilitation (FNOR™). FNOR™ is a rehabilitative modality which addresses chronic and acute pain, based on the latest developments in neuroscience. The FNOR™ approach emphasises on how the brain interacts with the musculoskeletal system to address dysfunction within dynamic movement. Pain changes how the brain interacts with the body, and FNOR™ helps to re-establish proper biomechanics and movement for pain reduction and increased mobility.

Dr Katherine also incorporates other rehab techniques, and works with Physitrack® to enable easy access to rehab exercise programs through the web and a mobile app.

Dynamic Tape

At Gentle Care Chiro, we use Dynamic Tape for athletes recovering from injury or to help prevent injury, as well as for anyone who needs additional support while their body heals. We find this biomechanical binding to be highly beneficial for, though not limited to, x shoulder tears, knee injuries, plantar fasciitis, ankle injuries, and low back/disc conditions.

Dynamic Tape works differently than other sports or kinesiology tapes—it’s designed to support a joint as it heals, redirect movement patterns and absorb loads (while re-injecting this energy back into movement) to protect the joint and facilitate healing. It’s the most-researched biomechanical tape available, and it is recommended by the International Federation of Sports Chiropractic. This type of binding is engineered to stretch in all directions, rather than just longitudinally, to allow full range of motion, but can also go rigid under sudden movement to support and protect both joints and muscles.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does Dynamic Taping last?

Depending on the part of the body it’s applied to, this type of binding can last up to about a week.

Can I get it wet?

Yes, Dynamic Tape is designed to withstand exposure to moisture, and showering will not affect its performance. If you spend a lot of time swimming or surfing, the tape will probably only last about 2-3 days.

Does this therapeutic type of binding contain latex?

No, there is no latex in this tape. In addition, the tape uses a pressure-sensitive medical-grade acrylic adhesive.

Can I apply Dynamic Tape myself?

Applying the binding in the proper orientation and with the appropriate amount of stretch is best done by a practitioner like Dr Katherine, who understands the biomechanics of movement, so that you get the best support and protection possible.
